19th edition of the International Urban Cultures Festival “Freestyle Maroc Urban Dance”

The association Espoir Jeunesse Maroc Freestyle Urban Dance is organising the 19th edition of the International Urban Cultures Festival “Freestyle Maroc Urban Dance” in Meknes from 09 to 28 September 2024. On the programme: murals, street performances, training workshops, dance shows, international competitions in various urban arts and sports… With the desire to occupy several spaces in the city of Meknes, the festival programme will be spread over several locations: French Institute of Meknes, Mohammed El Mennouni Theatre, Agora Square, Dar Lakbira Square, Lahdim Square…

This programme will be enriched by "Pas le temps pour le temps", a choreography by Said El Haddaji, on tour in the French Institute network. Said El Haddaji will also lead a workshop with a set of improvisations based on a conversation with the body, an inspiration from space, and a circulation of energies.

The festival programme will be spread over several locations:

• Lahdim Square

About the event:

This is the largest urban culture event in Morocco in the 'competition' category, an internationally recognised event. Many artists and dancers come from several countries: Algeria, Tunisia, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, England, the United States, Russia... The programme includes 18 competitions in urban arts and sports. Nearly 800 participants are on the bill: athletes, artists, and dancers.
