With the support of the Marrakech Commune, the Rues des Arts Association is organising the fifth edition of the Marrakech International Street Performance Festival from 08 to 10 December 2023.
The National Festival of Popular Arts of Morocco is a folkloric event created under the impetus of King Hassan II, father of the current King Mohammed VI, with the aim of highlighting the ancestral traditions of each region of the country at the time of decolonisation. This event takes place every year during the summer in Marrakech.
The ochre city then comes alive from all sides to welcome hundreds of artists from various cultural fields: dance, singing, circus, magic, music…
During the festival, big international names from the world of music and dance mingle with Moroccan troupes to offer dazzling shows open to all! The city is keen to receive new artists from abroad each year in order to add a multicultural touch to the shows. This is why, for all new editions, a country is invited as guest of honour. In 2005 for example, it was Senegal.
In parallel with the festival, there are stands, round tables, and exhibitions related to Moroccan know-how and local crafts.
